Henry Lukenge

About Me:

Mr. Lukenge is an accomplished financial, tax, and business executive with a rich experience spanning over 25 years. He began his career as a certified chartered accountant at a renowned big four accounting firm in the United Kingdom. In 2005, Henry embarked on a new chapter by moving to Canada to contribute to a significant IFRS implementation project at a major Trust fund in Toronto. Despite initial challenges, Henry fearlessly embraced the opportunity armed with his extensive knowledge and an unwavering determination to succeed.

During his tenure, he played a crucial role in successfully guiding the Trust fund through the IFRS project. Additionally, Henry provided valuable advice regarding the planned acquisition of one of Canada's largest telephone companies by the teachers' pension fund. Unfortunately, this ambitious deal collapsed amidst the global economic downturn during the 2008 financial crisis.

In 2009, feeling a need for greater personal fulfillment and a desire to make a broader societal impact, Henry transitioned away from the professional tax and accounting services sector. He took a hiatus to travel and explore various business ideas, one of which led to the establishment of NEXIM HEALTHCARE CONSULTANTS. This healthcare staffing company focuses on offering innovative staffing solutions to address long-term and medium-term staffing shortages within the health and social care sector. A significant portion of the company's net earnings is dedicated to fulfilling charitable commitments in resource-limited regions. The associated charity organization is known as NEXIM INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (NIDO).

Outside of work, Henry's diverse interests include reading, with a particular focus on history, social and economic injustice, race and economic exclusion. He also enjoys sports, especially soccer and tennis, and actively engages in weight training. Additionally, Henry is passionate about traveling, environmental and climate change issues, wildlife conservation, and serves as a licensed wildlife guide and a wildlife cameraman.

Henry is happily married to his wife Katie, and they recently celebrated the arrival of their first son, Alexander-Biko. Their time is split between their home in Stoney Creek, a townhouse in Toronto, and their flat in London, UK, which they frequently visit to spend time with family or when Henry is working in Europe.
